The Spirit of Giving

One of the most wonderful aspects of the holiday season is the spirit of giving where our friends, families, and neighbor look outside ourselves to give back to our community.  This is a time where people come together to share love, joy, and kindness.  Whether it is thoughtful gifts, acts of charity, or our giving of our time the act of giving is central to the holiday season. 

This holiday season I encourage my neighbors to find a way to give back.  Donations to charitable organizations are helpful year round but are often especially helpful at this time of year.  A random act of kindness like holding the door for a stranger, offering a hand to person struggling with packages, heartfelt handwritten notes, or just visiting with an lonely neighbor can make a world of difference in a person’s day. 

Find a way to share a little bit of yourself with the world and the warm feeling that fills you in that moment will stay long after the day has passed.
