by Debbie Caldwell 09/21/2024

Florida in zone 9 and 10 for planting.  Fall in central Florida is wonderful for planting and updating your garden.  Because Florida has a very short winter, your garden can flourish whether your garden is low maintenance, full of flowers, or loaded with vegetables.  We are moving into the dry season and cool weather plants thrive at this time of years. So keep in mind that consistent watering is key to ensuring that your garden thrives.

Low maintenance plants that are perfect for Florida falls include lantana, beach sunflower, firebush, and stone crop.

Flowers that keep your garden full of color in the fall include goldenrod, blazing stars, asters, pansies, petunias, and snapdragons.

Garden vegetable that grow particularly well in the fall are carrots, onions, radish, celery, spinach, pineapple, arugula, beets, lettuce, and Chinese cabbage.

With the abundance of sunshine and fresh air creating an inviting outdoor space can help you enjoy every inch of your home.

Happy Planting!
